The Christmas pudding, Christmas log, Christmas fruit cake and the mince pies are all Maltese traditional Christmas dessert which the Maltese inherited during the British rule between 1800 and 1979. CHRISTMAS PUDDING WITH BRANDY SAUCE. Recipe for the Brandy Sauce. Ingredients 50 g sugar 75 g flour 420 ml skimmed milk 75 g butter 3 tablespoons brandy Method. On a low heat melt the butter in a sauce pan, slowly pour in the flour into the melted butter and stir to get a smooth mixture. Gradually add the skimmed milk and keep stirring until you turn the mixture into a creamy sauce, now add the sugar and stir well into the creamy sauce and on a very low heat cook the sauce for 10 minutes. keep stirring so not to stick to the pan's bottom. Just before serving add the brandy and stir. Pour over the HOT Christmas pudding and Enjoy ! ALWAYS SERVE HOT. For 6 persons. |
