Description
English: SOUTH CHINA SEA (June 28, 2009) Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class Jonathan Morast of Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa’s Target Detachment goes over a surface gunnery exercise with Malaysian Army Col. Stephen Mundaw and Royal Malaysian Navy Capt. Halim Bin Maulud on the bridge of the dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49). Members of the Malaysian Armed Forces are aboard Harpers Ferry for the at-sea phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Malaysia 2009. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces. (U.S. Navy photo by Lt.
