Note: These reporting areas were used to report numbers of dead trees and the MBF and MCF volume by species on all forested lands in Oregon and Washington. A representative tree volume/species/reporting area was calculated by Forest Service silviculturists. These volumes were applied to dead trees mapped in the aerial detection survey to assist land managers with salvage. These reporting areas were used to summarize aerial survey data into the early 2000s.
