Español: El Instituto de Ciencias del Telescopio Espacial (STScI por sus siglas en inglés) en Baltimore, Maryland, juega un papel clave en la comunicación con el telescopio espacial James Webb de la NASA. El instituto (STScI) alberga el centro de operaciones de la misión Webb, desde donde se envían comandos y se controla el telescopio. Los comandos enviados desde STScI viajan hacia el telescopio espacial Webb a través de la Red del Espacio Profundo (DSN por sus siglas en inglés). La Red del Espacio Profundo es un conjunto de antenas de radio localizadas en Goldstone, California; Madrid, España, y Canberra, Australia. Los datos que el telescopio espacial Webb recopila luego son transmitidos a través de la Red del Espacio Profundo (DSN) al Instituto de Ciencias del Telescopio Espacial (STScI), en dónde se procesan, se distribuyen a la comunidad científica y se archivan.
