Description

BUSINESS CENTER BASS LAKE, IND.

Date: June 18, 1931 Source Type: Postcard Publisher, Printer, Photographer: AZO Postmark: None Collection: Steven R. Shook Remark: This postcard image shows an area referred to as Winona located along the northeast shore of Bass Lake, Starke County, Indiana. With the exception of a restaurant, there are no more businesses located in this area and it is now predominantly a residential neighborhood. The road seen here is present day South County Road 210.

Visible to the right is William A. Vergin's Lakeside Garage. Roepstorff Brothers General Merchandise business, owned and operated by Edward Roepstorff, is at the left; this business was later known as the Lakeside Grocery. Arnold's Lunch Room is also visible down the road on the left.
