Français : Cette seconde planche de balustrades en contient dix, qui présentent de grandes variétés. On remarquera celle, composée de volutes, qui défend les galeries supérieures de l’église Notre-Dame de Paris. Celle du théâtre de la porte Saint-Martin est riche par sa masse variée et régulière, quoique simple dans sa composition. Les quatre qui sont au bas de la planche, composées presque entièrement de formes arrondies, sont de bon goût. Il n’en est pas de même des deux dessinées au haut de la feuille. Leur composition, quoique originale, et nonobstant le bon aspect que leur donnent leurs ornemens dorés, ne peut être offerte comme modèle à suivre ; on ne doit employer des formes ainsi tourmentées qu’avec la plus grande réserve. |
