For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Markendorf, Informationstafel Ein kleines Dorf baut auf. Markendorf, Kreis Frankfurt Oder. Im Frühjahr 1945 wurde der Ort durch die Kampfhandlungen schwer zerstört. Heute ist M. fast ausschliesslich von Neubauern bewohnt und infolge der Zerstörungen herrschte z.T. bis heute eine grosse Wohnungsnot. Aus diesem Grunde wurde diese Landgemeinde zuerst in die Wiederaufbauplanung des Kreises einbezogen. Der Wiederaufbau und die geplante Neugestaltung des Kreisgebietes um Frankfurt Oder haben hier erfolgreich begonnen. UBz: Schon verkündet diese Tafel die Aufbauerfolge in Markendorf, zur Freude der Ortsbewohner! Aber noch mehr wird entstehen, wie u.B der grosse Sallbau. Dann wird es auch in Markendorf Theater- und Filmveranstaltungen geben.
