1933 wurden nach der Machtergreifung durch die faschistischen Nationalsozialisten in Deutschland die Konzentrationslager für politische Gegner errichte.
UBz: das Konzentrationslager Esterwegen im Emsland bei Papenburg im Jahre 1933. "Der Inspekteur der Geheimen Staatspolizei Ministerialrat Dr. Diels bei seiner Ansprache an die auf Grund einer Amnestie anläßlich der Novemberwahl zu Weihnachten 1933 zur Entlassung kommenden Häftlinge".
