For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, Stadtzentrum, Nacht ADN-ZB Gahlbeck 18.9.1976 pe. Leipzig: Blick auf das Zentrum der Messestadt bei Nacht. Auch in der zweitgrößten Stadt der DDR verändert das Zentrum ständig sein Gesicht. Schmucke Häuserfassaden, aber auch neue Baustellen künden davon. In nächster Zeit werden u.a. in der Grimmaischen Straße Häuserlücken geschlossen. 1977 beginnt der Bau des Hauses für das Gewandhausorchester an der Karl-Marx-Universität.
