Der erste Bürgermeister nach Ende des II. Weltkrieges der Stadt Storkow in der Mark, Franz Becker, gab auf eigene Initiative und mit Unterstützung der gesellschaftlichen Kräfte drei Serien Storkower Briefmarken heraus. Mit dem Erlös finanzierte er lebenswichtige Betriebe und soziale Einrichtungen von Storkow.
Von der Zentralverwaltung für Post- und Fernmeldewesen in der sowjetischen Besatzungszone Deutschlands wurden 1946 diese lokalen Briefmarken als amtliche Postwertzeichen anerkannt.
UBz: Zum Kindergarten in Storkow gehört die Kuh "Uschi", die für den täglichen Milchbedarf der Kleinen sorgt.
