Der VII. Schriftstellerkongreß der DDR nahm am 14.11.73 in der Berliner Kongreßhalle seine Arbeit auf. Mit starkem und herzlichem Beifall begrüßten die Kongreßteilnehmer den Ersten Sekretär des ZK der SED, Erich Honecker (2.v.r.), das Mitglied des Politbüros des ZK der SED Horst Sindermann (2.v.l.), Vorsitzender des Ministerrats der DDR und weitere Mitglieder der Parteiführung. Im Präsidium hatten weiter Anna Seghers (3.v.l.), Hermann Kant (l.) und Erwin Strittmatter (r.) Platz genommen.
