For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Hofkirche, Orgel ADN-ZB Sturm 21.12.1971 Dresden: Hofkirche-Restaurierte Silbermannorgel- Die Silbermannorgel der Katholischen Hofkirche in Dresden konnte in diesem Jahr zum ersten Male nach jahrelanger Restaurierung wieder erklingen. Dieses letzte und größte Werk des Meisters blieb, 1944 ausgelagert, vor der Vernichtung bewahrt. Es mußte jedoch von 1967-1971 von der Dresdener Orgelbaufirma Jehmlich restauriert und wieder aufgestellt werden. Eine Beraterkommission trug dazu bei, daß der typische "Silbermann-Klang" wieder erreicht wurde. Die Katholische Hofkirche, eine der bedeutendsten Leistungen des Hochbarock, erstand nach der fast vollständigen Zerstörung durch die anglo-amerikanischen Luftangriffe wieder aus den Trümmern. Allein der Staat stellte dafür 3,5 Mill. Mark zur Verfügung.
