For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Ostpreussische Volkssturm-Männer in der Ausbildung bei der Division "Großdeutschland"

Wiederholt hat der Wehrmachtbericht bereits den erfolgreichen Einsatz ostpreussischer Volkssturm-Bataillone bei der Abwehr der bolschewistischen Grossangriffe gemeldet. Immer neue Bataillone sind in Aufstellung und Ausbildung begriffen. Frontbewährte Ausbilder hat u.a. auch die Pz.Gren.Div."Grossdeutschland" für die Ausbildung der Volkssturm- Grenadiere bereitgestellt. In kürzester Zeit lernen die alten weltkriegserfahrenen Soldaten und die durch Wehrsportausbildung und in Wehrertüchtigungslagern vorgeschulten jüngeren Jahrgänge mit den neuzeitlichen Waffen umzugehen.
UBz. Mit aller Sorgfalt unterweist der Ausbilder seine Volkssturm-Männer bei der Ausbildung am MG.
