For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Seekanal, Schlepper, Frachtschiff Zentralbild Sindermann 3-12-1969 Rostock: Reger Schiffsbetrieb im Seekanal zum Überseehafen-Im Rostocker Hafen, an dessen Kais seit Inbetriebnahme am 1. Mai 1960 mehr als 50 Millionen Tonnen Güter umgeschlagen wurden, herrscht auch in dieser Jahreszeit Betrieb. Wesentlichen Anteil an den hohen Leistungen der Rostocker Hafenarbeiter haben die Schlepperbesatzungen und Seelotsen, welche die großen "Pötte" auch in den Wintermonaten sicher von der Reede in den Hafen und zurück geleiten.
