Dresden, "Löwenapotheke", Hausschild Zentralbild Deutsche Demokratische Republik 12.11.1969 - schw. Die Bezirksstadt Dresden Aus den Trümmern des Krieges neu erstanden Die Elbmetropole hat in den vergangenen 20 Jahren des Wiederaufbaus eine kraftvolle Entwicklung genommen. Von der Großzügigkeit der Neubauten in der Stadtmitte zeugt dieser Blick in die Ernst-Thälmann-Straße, die sich in einer Breite von 46 bis 61 Metern zwischen dem Pirnaischen Platz und dem Postplatz erstreckt. Unser Foto zeigt das Wappentier der Stadt Dresden an der Löwenapotheke. Diese Apotheke ist die zweitälteste der Stadt und im Jahre 1560 gegründet worden. Als im Februar 1945 die Stadt in Schutt und Asche sank wurde auch die historische Löwenapotheke am Altmarkt vernichtet. Im Jahre 1959 wurde sie in der Ernst-Thälmann-Straße, mit 20 modern eingerichteten Räumen ausgestattet, neu errichtet.
