For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
LPG Walternienburg, Geflügelzuchtmeisterin Zentralbild Ritter Moe-15.2.1965-Die 24-jährige Geflügelzuchtmeisterin Irmgard Urban (unser Bild) leitet eine der größten "Eierfabriken" der DDR, die Geflügelfarm der LPG in Walternienburg, Kreis Zarbat. Sie erwarb sich das dazu notwendige Fachwissen auf einem achtmonatigen Meisterlehrgang. Information: Irmgard Urban gebietet nicht nur über die 10.000 Legehennen der LPG, sondern sie ist auch für die Aufzucht von mehreren tausend Junghennen verantwortlich. Sie war es, die dafür sorgte, daß die Geflügelzucht heute eine der Haupteinnahmequellen der Genossenschaft ist, denn jede vierte Mark auf dem Konto der LPG stammt aus der Geflügelzucht. Täglich verlassen 5.000 Eier die Genossenschaft.
