For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Biscan, 2.10.1959, VEB Schiffswerft Rosslau, Grösste Binnenwerft Deutschlands. Die Rosslauer Schiffbauer haben nach 1945 mit dem Wiederaufbau ihrer zerstörten Werft begonnen. Heute ist die Schiffswerft Rosslau als grösste Binnenwerft Deutschlands eine der grössten Europas. Rund 300 Schiffe verliessen bisher die Werft. Exportkunden sind hauptsächlich die Sowjetunion, Polen, Rumänien, Bulgarien und Westdeutschland. UBz: Eines der Geburtstagsgeschenke der Rosslauer Schiffbauer: Das Motor-Güterschiff "Rothensee" von der Deutschen Binnenreederei Magdeburg wird bis spätestens 5. Oktober fertiggestellt. Das Schiff wird überholt und erhält eine komplette neue Ruderanlage. Die Reparatur wird vorfristig fertig."
