For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Hofkirche, Parkplatz ADN-ZB Häßler 16.11.1989 Dresden: Jubiläum- Vor 250 Jahren wurde der Grundstein zur Kathedrale in Dresden gelegt. Den Auftrag zum Bau der katholischen Hof- und Pfarrkirche erteilte August III., Kurfürst von Sachsen und König von Polen. Mit dem Entwurf und der Ausführung wurde der italienische Architekt Gaetano Chiaveri beauftragt. So entstand das sakrale Bauwerk im Stil des römischen Spätbarock.Der mit 78 Dach-Figuren geschmückte Sandsteinbau wurde nach den Kriegszerstörungen wieder instandgesetzt. 1980 erhielt die Hofkirche des Status einer Kathrdrale.
