For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Frankfurter Allee, Wohnhäuser ADN-ZB Oberst 20.9.89 Berlin: Gegenüberstellung-Frankfurter Allee 1945 und heute- Unmittelbar nach Kriegsende bot sich im Zentrum der Hauptstadt ein Bild schwerer Zerstörungen. Heute zeigt sich die einst sehr in Mitleidenschaft gezogene Allee im Stadtbezirk Friedrichshain überwiegend in neuer Schönheit. mehr als 300.000 Wohnungen wurden in den letzten 20 Jahren in der Stadt neu- bzw. ausgebaut. (siehe auch Motiv R 83 902)
