Chemnitz, Karl-Marx-Denkmal ADN-ZB Thieme 7.7.88 Karl-Marx-Stadt: Vorbereitung Pioniertreffen - Ein Treffpunkt der vielen kleinen Gäste dürfte im August das Karl-Marx-Monument im Stadtzentrum sein. 1971 wurde es errichtet. Auf einem 4,50 Meter hohen Sockel aus Granit erhebt sich das 7,10 Meter hohe Kopfmonument des Mannes, dessen Namen die Stadt seit 1953 trät. Schöpfer des Bronzedenkmals ist der sowjetische Bildhauer Lew Kerbel. -siehe auch 1988-0707-3N -
