Bez. Cottbus: Im VEB Binnenfischerei Peitz dem größten Karpfenproduzenten der DDR, werden zur Zeit Fische gekört, das heißt, die besten Fische für die Laichgewinnung ausgesucht. Erstmalig wird in diesem Jahr auch eine Leistungsprüfung durch die zentrale Zuchtkommission durchgeführt. Durch gezielte Züchtung wollen die Fischer bei Spiegelkarpfen in den nächsten Jahren die Erträge steigern.

Auf diesen 11 kg schweren Marmorkarpfen kann Fischer Gerhard Richter stolz sein. Diese Pflanzenfresser werden in der DDR seit 1968 gehalten und erfolgreich nachgezüchtet. Sie Zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Futterökonomie in den Seen und Teichen aus. Die aus dem Amurgebiet stammenden Fische wurden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der UdSSR in der DDR angesiedelt.
