ADN-ZB/Sindermann/12.5.87/ Bez. Rostock: Diabetikerbetreuung- stationäre Stoffwechseleinstellung
Seit 1978 besteht eine moderne Klinik für zuckerkranke Kinder und Jugendliche am Zentralinstitut für Diabetes (ZID) "Gerhardt Katsch" in Karlsburg. Hier wird seit 1980 angestrebt, bei allen insulinbehandelten Kindern und Jugendlichen jährlich einmal eine stationäre Stoffwechselüberprüfung vorzunehmen.

Absprachen mit der Sozialversicherung ermöglichen es den Eltern, die Kinder nach Karlsburg zu begleiten. Die Kinder werden am ZID medizinisch und pädagogisch betreut. Eltern oder Elternteile werden mit der Problematik der Krankheit vertraut gemacht, erlernen die Stoffwechselkontrolle, das Injizieren von Insulin und Grundregeln der Diät. Für den Erfolg der Stoffwechseleinstellung und -führung ist das enge Zusammenwirken von Eltern, medizinischem Personal und Ärzten wichtige Veraussetzung. Oberschwester Liselotte Deutsch (Links) berät Ines Pollow( links) mit Tochter Nicole aus Grapzow (Krs. Altentreptow) und Christian Müller mit Sohn Falk aus Putbus wie Stoffwechselkontrollen selbst vorgenommen werden.
