For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Matthäuskirche, Winter ADN-ZB Häßler 11.3.87 Dresden: Pöppelmann-Ehrung - Der 250.Todestag (17. Januar 1986) und der 325. Geburtstag im Mai 1987 sind Anlaß den Architekten Mattäus Daniel Pöppelmann zu ehren. Der geniale Baumeister August des Starken ist als Erbauer des Dresdener Zwingers in die europäische Kunstgeschichte eingegangen. Die Matthäuskirche in Dresden-Friedrichstadt wurde 1728-30 von Pöppelmann errichtet.Hier befindet sich auch sein Grab. Die Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen ehren Pöppelmann mit einer Ausstellung im Albertinum, die am 13.3.87 eröffnet wird. Siehe auch Motive 1987-0311-26 und 28 N
