For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Brühlsche Terrasse, Freitreppe ADN-ZB Häßler 17.7.86 Dresden: Touristen findet man zu dieser Jahreszeit überall im Dresdner Stadtzentrum, auch an der Brühlschen Terrasse. Über 40 Stufen führen vom Georgi-Dimitroff-Platz auf die Brühlsche Terrasse, die ein Rest der Stadtbefestigung aus dem 16. Jahrhundert ist. Die Freitreppe wurde 1814 auf Anregung des russischen Gouverneurs für Sachsen Fürst Repinin-Wolkonski, angelegt.
