ADN-ZB Hiekel 10.7.86 Dresden: Tabak-Moschee- Das bedeutenste Bauwerk der DDR im islamischen Stil sit ein Industriebau. Die Moschee "Yenidze", so benannt nach einem Dorf im türkischen Distrikt Xanthi, wurde 1909 von Martin Hamnitsch entworfen und diente der Zigarettenindustrie. Das Minarett ist in Wirklichkeit ein Schornstein. Der Architekt vereinte in dem Gebäude Elemente der türkischen und maurischen Kunst und des Jugendstils. Das 62 Meter hohe Bauwerk besteht aus Eisenbeton und Kunstsandstein. Die Kuppel hat einen Durchmesser von 17 Metern. Seit 1953 gehört das Gebäude, in dem Tabak gelagert wird, dem VEB Tabakkontor Dresden im Tabakkombinat Berlin. (siehe auch 5,7,8,N) |
