Im Palast der Republik wurde der XI. Parteitag der SED eröffnet. Den Bericht des Zentralkomitees erstattete Erich Honecker, Generalsekretär des ZK der SED und Vorsitzender des Staatsrates der DDR. (In the Palace of the Republic, the 11th Party Congress opened. The report of the Central Committee was delivered by Erich Honecker, the General Secretary of the Socialist Unity Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Council of State of the German Democratic Republic.)
