For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Brunnen ADN-ZB Häßler 17.9.1985 Dresden: Schönes Detail- Einer der frühesten Dresdner Hofbrunnen, aus der Zeit um 1718, gehört zum Haus des Goldschmieds J. Melchior Dinglinger an der Frauengasse 9. Aus dem 1945 zerstörten Gebäude wurden Teile des Brunnens geborgen und mit Ergänzungen an der Rückseite vom Hotel Gewandhaus angebracht. Das in Muschelform ausgebildete Brunnenbecken trägt Putten und einen grotesken Männerkopf. Das Fenster rahmen Pflaster mit Konsolen aus denen Putten wachsen. Über dem Schlußstein befindet sich eine doppelt geöffnete Muschel mit Perle.
