For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Für Bezieher des ADN-Reportagedienstes! Zum Beitrag: Mit der "Augusta" fing es an - Ein Kapitel FDGB-Ferniendienst an der Ostseeküste. ADN-ZB Sindermann - 31.8.84 - bb. So dicht an dicht stehen bei schönem Sommerwetter die Strandkörbe bei Boltenhagen an der Wismarbucht. In dem kleinen Ostseebad, in dem kurz nach 1800 eine gräfliche Familie den ersten Badekarren am Strand aufstellte, verleben heute im Jahr weit über 30 000 FDGB-Urlauber erholsame Ferientrage - das sind ebensoviele, wie sich 1949 an der gesamten DDR-Ostseeküste aufhielten. (Hierzu gehören die Fotos 1984-0831-300N-302N!)"
