Medrow, Bäuerinnen mit Kälbern ADN-ZB Bartocha 24.11.83 Bez.Neubrandenburg: Kälbervierlinge wurden vor wenigen Wochen in der Milchviehanlage Medrow, Kreis Demmin, geboren. Vierlingsgeburten bei Rindern sind äußerst selten. Sie werden in der DDR, wo jährlich rund 2 Millionen Kälber das Licht der Welt erblicken, unter 100.000 Abkalbungen nur einmal registriert. Normalerweise bringen Kühe jeweils ein Kalb im Jahr zu Welt. Die männlichen Tiere, Max und Moritz, hatten ein Gewicht von 20 bzw. 19 Kilogramm, die beiden weiblichen Kälber, Martha und Minna, jeweils 14 Kilogramm. Gemeinsam wogen sie bei der Geburt 67 Kilogramm, der Durchschnitt üblicher Abkalbungen liegt bei 35. Für das Muttertier, eine SMR-Herdbuchkuh mittlerer Leistung, war das die zweite Abkalbung. Liselotte Möller (l.) und Roswitha Wephke sorgen sich liebevoll um den außergewöhnlichen Nachwuchs.
