For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Das deutsche Volk schützt seine Grenzen.

Auch in den Vogesen wachsen überall Straßensperren aus dem Boden, entstehen Panzerfallen und Gräben.
Unermüdlich arbeitet die Bevölkerung mit Hacke und Schaufel, um das System der Grenzbefestigungen immer weiter zu verstärken und zu verbessern. Zum Schutze dieser Arbeiten gegen überraschende Überfälle von Terroristen stehen Männer der deutsche Polizei achtsam auf Posten.
