In der Erzvorbereitung wird das feinkörnige Naßkonzentrat zusammen mit Koksgrus gesintert. Aus dem stückigen Sinter wird im Hochofen das Roheisen erschmolzen. Durch ein weitverzweigtes Schienennetz ist die Erzvorbereitung mit dem Hüttenwerk verbunden.

English: At the sinter plant, the finely-ground wet concentrate is sintered with coke breeze. Pig iron is smelted from the agglomerated sinter. The sinter plant is connected to the smelter by an extensive rail network.
