Über die Erzhochbahn wird das Erz von der Sinteranlage in die Hochofenbunker gebracht. Von dort gelangen die einzelnen Chargen aus Erz und Koks über den Schrägaufzug mit Hilfe von Hunten in den Hochofen.

Das Hüttenwerk Salzgitter verfügt insgesamt über 7 Hochöfen, von denen 6 ständig in Betrieb sind.

The ore from the sintering plant is brought to the stock bins via the ore trestle. From there, the individual charges of ore and coke are hauled in skips up inclined lifts to the blast furnace.

The Salzgitter works has seven blast furnaces, of which six remain in operation.
