through the year that the more advanced studentscould be prepared for future teachers in Sunday schools. A largenumber of Juniors and Seniors have attended this class. At thebeginning of the spring term the Bible Study classes completed theircourses and were succeeded by three Mission Study classes. At theconclusion of the eight weeks course, the Mission Study classes unitedin giving a Missionary Pageant, which portrayed the work of theAssociation in foreign countries. The Social Service Committee has done a noteworthy work. Thiscommittee seeks to interest the girls in helping actual cases of needwhich arise. In cooperation with the social service organizations ofFredericksburg, the students have done practical missionary work invarious parts of the town. In addition to this, Thanksgiving basketswere sent to poor families, and a few weeks later the girls filled anumber of Christmas stockings for children in town, who wouldotherwise have had nothing. The Association realizes the need for the development of the socialinstinct among the girls; to this end, a number of parties and socialgatherings were held at different times during the year. An openingreception to the faculty and student body was given near the begin-ning of the session. The Social Committee seeks to establish friendlyand cordial relations between all the students. Two entertainmentswere given for the benefit of the Conference Fund—a bazaar justbefore Christmas and a lawn party in the spring. Several delegateswere sent to the Summer Conference, at Blue Eidge, N. C. It isfelt that money is well spent in sending delegates to this conference,both because of the larger vision and inspiration the girls themselvesreceive, and for what they bring back to the school in increasedenthusiasm, efficiency, and influence.
