| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) In the early morning while my wife gets ready, I always go out to greet the rising sun. Near our cabin was a trail down to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The second morning as i walked the trail I spied a meadow through the trees. Knowing that elk come out early in the morning to graze, I carefully walked to the edge of the forest, and there were several cow elk eating breakfast out in the meadow. The light was low and I had to use my telephoto, which made it hard to get a sharp picture. I scouted out a better spot to get a closer and went there the next morning. I was rewarded by finding the bull elk out with his harem, a rare occurrence. I took several shots before a park maintenance truck came by and scared him, but not the cows, back into the trees. |
