| Description |
English: Buildwas Abbey - view east from inside nave After the dissolution of the abbey in 1535, the site was in private hands until 1925. It then came into the guardianship of the former Commissioners of Works. Today it is looked after by English Heritage. However a part of the abbey's grounds and buildings, including the abbot's house (now a social club), are still in private hands. No excavations have been undertaken in that area. |
