Între 24 și 27 octombrie 2019 în Parcul Regele Mihai (Parcul Herastrau) din București a avut loc PumpkinFest, primul festival de Halloween din România, unde s-a construit cel mai mare zid de dovleci personalizați și luminați. Organizatorii și-au propus să pună împreună 30.000 de dovleci personalizați și să formeze un zid înalt de cinci metri și lung de 100 de metri. Pe vremuri, în noaptea de 31 octombrie, când are loc Halloween-ul, dovlecii sau napii erau scobiți și iluminați și puși la vedere pentru a alunga spiritele rele. Între timp, personalizarea dovlecilor a devenit un exercițiu de dezvoltare a creativității, copiii întrecându-se în culori și forme deosebite.

Halloween-ul nu este specific poporului roman. Este importat din tarile vestice.
