Description
Română: Bucuresti, Romania, Decembrie 2015, Piata Universitatii. UNIVERSITATEA BUCURESTI (B-II-m-A-18674).

Universitatea din București este o universitate de stat din București și una dintre cele mai prestigioase instituții de învățământ superior din România. Fondată în 1864, Universitatea din București este a doua universitate modernă a României, după Universitatea din Iași.

Substratul istoric al Universității din București datează din 1694, când a fost fondată Academia Domnească de la București. Universitatea din București a fost înființată oficial în 1864, pe locul fostei Academii Domnești de la București de către domnitorul Alexandru Ioan Cuza, care a divizat Colegiul Sfântul Sava în Universitatea din București și actualul Colegiu Național „Sfântul Sava”.
