Brown bess musket fragment
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy trigger guard for a musket, possibly Brown Bess type. The trigger guard is shaped to fit between the barrel and the stock, it is slightly ornate in design. One end tapers to a small knop, the other end is broken. There is a piece of metal set at a right angle and bored with a small hole that is designed to fix the guard to the stock or barrel. The length is 118.84mm, width 19.79mm, thickness 4.07mm. It weighs 56.42 grams.
