Description

a pair of bronze leopards from Benin -

Die Skulpturen sind ca. 80 cm hoch und wiegen pro Stück ca. 24kg - die Figuren sind aus mehreren Teilen zusammengeschweißt - jede Figur ist ein Unikat. Die Figuren wurden offensichtlich als Paar gefertigt - was bei der Technik der verlorenen Form nicht so einfach ist - deswegen sind die Figuren auch nicht identisch - aber in der Körperhaltung und Gestaltung gleich. Auffällig ist die gerade und dominante stolze Körperhaltung der Leoparden - das deutet auf eine repräsentative Verwendung.

Gesehen auf einem Flohmarkt in Berlin.
