Description of object
A plain pennanular gold ring of near circular cross-section. It exhibits some lifting at the terminals, which show that the piece comprises a gold covering over a base metal core. Such items are well-known Bronze Age artefacts of decorative character, with a number reported through the Treasure Act, but are rarely found in excavated contexts.
External diameter 16.5 x 17.5mm /internal diameter 7mm / breadth 5.5mm. Mass 7.46g. |
