Bronze Age Barbed and Tanged Arrowhead
Description
English: An almost complete barbed and tanged flint arrowhead of Early Bronze Age date (2150 BC - 1500 BC). The extreme tip of the point is missing due to an old break. Length: 34.9mm; width: 19.7mm and 6.1mm thick. Weight: 2.94g. The barbs are almost non-existent and the tang length is c. 8.5mm with a width of 8.2mm. The arrowhead is bi-facially worked overall with ripple flaking. The two sides of the arrowhead form an angle of approximately 40°. The flint is opaque and dark grey in colour, with translucent light grey edges.
