Fotografia przedstawia willę Ludwika Grohmana znajdująca się przy ulicy Tylnej 9/11. Wybudowana w latach 80. XIX wieku według projektu Hilarego Majewskiego, stylem nawiązuje do renesansu włoskiego. W latach 1894-1896 została dobudowana od strony wschodniej nowa część z paradną klatką schodową oraz zimowy ogród. W 1913 roku rozbudowano część południowo-wschodnią, dobudowując piętrowy aneks z osobnym wejściem. Główne wejście z portykiem filarowym prowadziło do reprezentacyjnego hallu i klatki schodowej. Na parterze znajdowały się pomieszczenia zarówno reprezentacyjne jak i mieszkalne. W pałacu umieszczono cztery windy - jedną osobową i trzy gospodarcze. W 1945 roku budynek zajęło NKWD, które rozkradło praktycznie całe wyposażenie. Następnie willa przeszła na własność Zakładów Przemysłu Bawełnianego "Uniontex", które umieściły tu zakładowe przedszkole. Na początku lat 90. XX wieku budynek przejęła gmina, która w 1998 roku sprzedała go w ręce prywatne. Fotografia pochodzi z wydanego w 1896 roku albumu Bronisława Wilkoszewskiego „Widoki m. Łodzi”. Saryusz Bronisław Paweł Wilkoszewski (1847-1901), zwany "łódzkim Canaletto" był mistrzem fotografii ilustracyjnej. Udokumentował zabudowę Łodzi z końca XIX wieku przede wszystkim wille, fabryki, budynki użyteczności publicznej, obiekty sakralne, ulicę Piotrkowską. Jego zakład fotograficzny znajdował się w willi "Trianon" w Pasażu Meyera 5 (obecnie ulica Moniuszki). |
