English: British Equipment at An American Airfield- Anglo-american Co-operation in Wartime Britain, 1943 Private Earle C Kyle (left) from Merlin, Baltimore, and Sergeant H Napier from Hoquiam, Washington, man the fire hoses of their British-made crash tender during a drill at an American airfield, somewhere in Britain. The crash tenders are posted along with an ambulance at strategic points around the airfield when an aircraft is due to land, so that they are ready for action should any emergency occur. |
