  • Inscribed above image: "Battle Field" Fairoak [sic] Station Richmond and York R.R. Tuesday afternoon June 3, 1862.
  • Inscribed on recto: Bringing the wounded soldiers to the cars; Battles [?] along these woods; Branches attached to the cars for a shade from a burning sun; horse with two wounded soldiers; one side of the horse ambulance; after battle of Seven Pines.
  • Train engine labelled: Exetor.
  • Inscribed in ink upper left: 4 page.
  • Inscribed on verso: The R.R. 3 or 4 ft. high wars used [for] rifle pits by Abercrombies men. Inscribed lower center: After the Battle of Seven Pines/Putting the Wounded on cars - 1862 - June 3rd.
