Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bridgekeeper's boathouse The Wivenhoe and Brightlingsea Railway, which opened in 1866, fell victim to the Beeching Axe in 1964. The railway crossed Alresford Creek via a bridge at this point and the concrete pillar visible to the right of the boathouse was one of the bridge supports. The boathouse, now derelict, apparently belonged to the bridgekeeper.
