| Description |
English: Bridge under Mouldron West branch This Caledonian Railway branch off the Edinburgh - Shotts - Glasgow Central line ended a few yards behind the photographer, interchanging there with tramways that brought iron ore from the many pits further west and south. The rather worn-out bridge over a boggy ditch needed a certain lightness of foot to cross safely. Small waste tips can be seen both fore and aft of the nearest pylon. The buff "pyramids" in the left distance are piles of sand, gravel and limestone from the Leven Seat quarries. |
