רקע לתקופה:[edit]

אחד המבצעים החשובים והנועזים ביותר במבצעי "תנועת המרי" ערב הקמת מדינת ישראל.

במבצע זה חובלו בו זמנית 11 גשרים בדרכים החשובות המקשרות את א"י לשכנותיה.

המבצע נערך כמחאה כנגד המדיניות הבריטית ושתיקת העולם. לזעוק ולהתריע:

"אם ליהודים אין כניסה לארצם לא תהיה כניסה לאיש."

הפעולה.[edit]

שני הגשרים שלצידכם תוכננו לפיצוץ בליל הגשרים. האיזור היה מיושב בערבים. בגבעות שמסביב היו מחנות הצבא הבריטי. פלוגת הלוחמים א' ו-ו' של הפלמח היו אחראיות על פיצוץ הגשרים. לפעולה מקיבוץ מצובה יצאו 44 איש. הם נשאו חומרי נפץ ולבשו מדי צבא בריטי להסוואה, אך כשהגיעו לגשר הופתעו על ידי שוטרים בריטים שירו עליהם. תוך קרב פגע קליע באחד משקי חומר הנפץ וגרם לפיצוץ. נספו י"ד בחורי גשר אכזיב. גשר הרכבת נפגע והיחיד שלא נפגע הוא גשר הכביש.

בוצע ע"י קבוצת בר מצווה גשר הזיו 1992-93 תשנ"ד
