| Description |
English: Brewster County is the third highest county in Texas but is arguably the most rugged.
This image was taken fifteen miles south of Alpine, Texas facing the south. In the center right is Cienega Mountain at 6,565 feet above sea-level. It's range is called the Pasiano Mountains or the Alps of Texas. In the left is Elephant Mountain, 6,228 feet above sea-level and Santiago Peak at 6,539 feet. They are the southern end of the high Sierra De Norte Range. Lastly, in the distance is the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. They're home to the highest peak in Brewster County; Emory Peak, 7800 feet above sea-level.
