Auf ihrer Wanderung nach Bremen trafen Esel und Hund noch eine Katze, die ersäuft werden sollte. Auch sie zog mit ihnen, denn sie verstand sich auf Nachtmusik. Bald trafen sie einen Hahn, den die Köchin schlachten wollte. Auch er nahm Reißaus undzog mit den Musikanten, denn er hatte eine gute Stimme. = On their way to Bremen, the donkey and dog met an old cat that was about to be drowned by its owner. She went with them too, because she knew how to make night music. Soon they met a rooster that the cook planned to kill. He too ran away and went with the musicians because he had a good voice.
