Stephanstraße 1
bildet mit Kohlmarkt 17
ein einheitliches Grundstück
und steht im Eigentum
der Firma Leder-Meid Offenbach.
Als etwa im 12. Jh. die Altstadt
entstand, wurden die einzelnen
Parzellen mit Mauern begrenzt.
Bei der Bebauung der Grundstücke
wurden nach und nach die Mauern
teils entfernt, teils in
die Bauwerke integriert.
Die Fachwerkbauten im Innenhof
sind etwa im 18. Jh. entstanden
wobei diese Mauer als einzige
der alten Umfassungsmauern
erhalten geblieben ist.
1993 wurde das gesamte Objekt
unter der Leitung
von Architekt Heinz-J. Esser
aufwendig im alten Stil saniert.
